Readoption Day

Our Readoption (Recognition of Foreign Birth) of Joleigh with the State of Florida, was today. We were all in attendance as a whole family, including Jacob. He took the day off so he could come share this special time, too, as a family. Our attorney, Paul Consbruck, did an excellent job helping us with the whole process. We were there 10 minutes and Paul was on the conference phone asking all the important questions we needed for Judge Smiley. I can't believe that we finally are at the point of having Joleigh's adoption completed. You don't have to readopt your child when doing IA, but when you do, you will be issued a birth certificate from your state, with our names listed as parents. If you have any questions about readoption, especially in the State of Florida, go to www.adoptfla.com and read more about it.

Mendy & Chip - Congratulations! It is such a special day for your family. Our re-adoption should be very soon. It's in the court system right now. Jenny will be 19 months old on the 11th. The time is going by so quickly.
