4 months ago........

A scared little girl entered our lives. We had waited so long for this precious, little one, who didn't even know we existed. It was love at first sight, when we saw this precious little baby girl. Here is a picture of her 4 months ago and one of her now.

If Jacob can fish, so can I.........

Jacob is at his MawMaw and D'daddy's fishing while he is on Spring Break. Well, I guess little Miss Joleigh was more upset than I thought and wanted to stay and fish with her brother. Since she didn't, she decided to fish at home.....with her GOLDFISH crackers. I was in the office trying to get some work done and she was peacefully watching a Baby Signing Time DVD. Well, I thought she was watching it. I noticed that Little Miss was quieter than normal, so I went to check in on her and she met me with a sweet grin and was laughing. I said, "Uh Oh, what have you done?" She had sneaked into the kitchen a grab the bag of goldfish crackers and went fishing in the living room. Not only did she dump them out, but she had to stomp on them and stir them up with the wooden spoon. I believe we have a "live wire" on our hands. In China, some of the families in our travel group nicknamed her "wild thing" She is that, but I wouldn't have her any other way. Years from now, I will be wishing she and Jacob were both making messes in the house.

Baby Gabi's shower

Yesterday I went to a baby shower for my neice, Jessica. Joleigh wasn't happy about meeting a lot of new folks. I guess the picture tells why. My dear friend, Melanie rocked her to sleep and my other neice, Jamie loved on her as well. Needless to say, Joleigh was in a better frame of mind when she got up from her quick nap.

Not me.......

Hmmm! I don't think Mama or Daddy is looking and I sure do love Pringles potato chips. Let me see here........Uh Oh! Oh well, yummy to my tummy! After this, I will ask my Daddy if he will share some ice cream with me. I love ice cream, too!

16 months old!

Joleigh turned 16 months old on the 5th (yesterday) Where does the time go? Here are some things Joleigh is doing:

  1. Saying several words including: cookie (started today), thank you, Mama, Daddy, Jacob, cat, bye, hey, get down, nana (milk), woof, meow, Whee, Ming Ming (wonder pets), Ding (when the timer goes off she copies it). We are working on more words, but hasn't quite mastered them yet. We have improved alot over the past two weeks.

  2. loves her bath. If I dare mention one, she signs for bath and off she goes to the bathroom.

  3. signs for : more, thank you, please, bath, all done and down.

  4. Is using sippy cup all day except for bedtime. Loves her bottle and Mommy isn't ready for her to give it up, either.

  5. loves outside and loves to swing (whee)

  6. made several friends and loves to see them (especially at Sunday School)

  7. sleeps all night with occasional interruption (no nightmares lately)

  8. walking and running everywhere (she is fast)

  9. can count to 3 ( with help)

  10. doesn't like my attention or dad's attention on anything else (like now, not happy that I am typing this post)

  11. Has bonded with Daddy, Mommy and big brother, Jacob and several other family members.

  12. doesn't mind her car seat, especially if you tell her we are going to get Jacob from school

  13. eats broccoli, bananas, grapes, cheese, peas, beans, a little meat (not much) mac and cheese, eggs, yogurt, grits, cream of wheat, milk, juice, sweet tea and cookies. In other words, just about anything you offer! LOL

  14. loves to dance and sing. Starting to watch some TV now, especially if it has music.

  15. Is a blessing to our family and it seems as she has been with us the whole time. God has truly been faithful in His word and gave us what we prayed for, in His perfect time!

more beach pictures

more pics of the beach. Too many pretty pictures not to post. Thanks

Beach Pictures

We were able to go to camping in Destin a couple of weeks ago and it was cold, but the beaches were beautiful. This was Joleigh's first trip to the beach and she loved it. Jacob and his best buddy, Trent, had a great time, too. Enjoy the pictures.

Pictures for the week

Well, this week went really fast. Everyone stayed well this week. The weather turned off warm (for now) so we were able to go outside. Joleigh learned how to climb to get what she wants. She hasn't learned that if she climbs in a chair that is already pushed up to the table that she will get "stuck" She was going for the goldfish crackers, one of her many favorites. Too cute!
I ordered some books for her from the Children's Book of the month club (www.cbomc.com)and she was so proud of her new backpack that came with her books.

She also loves taking bubble baths. After all the water is gone, she still wants to stay in and blow bubbles, eat them or whatever. What an adorable face!

We went to MawMaw and D'daddy's (Chip's parents) last night to eat supper. Joleigh decided she wanted to sit with her big brother on his skateboard. She loves her brother and wants to do everything he does.
